Artist Dana Hoey had grown tired of the polite expectations of women in today’s society. So, she focused her photography towards trained female fighters for a closer and more honest look and healthy expression through aggression. Dana Hoey has been an artist in the media since the 90s and was once a part of the prolific group of photographers known as ‘The Yale Girls.’ She continues to work as an artist with photography and live events. Since 1997 she has been exhibiting in galleries and museums, most recently at the Detroit Museum of Contemporary Art, and Petzel Gallery NYC.
